ABOUT ZOOM
Zoom is a rapidly growing video conferencing app. It works best on a computer, if your computer has a camera or webcam (most do) because the bigger screen allows you to see more. Download a small app in advance (zoom.us/meetings) or log in early and you will be prompted for the download. You can also download the Zoom app (aka Zoom Cloud Meetings) for an iPad or phone.
RESOURCES
Our May 28 NCQC meeting had lots of information about using Zoom for Guild meetings, board meetings, and other activities. The slides from that presentation are posted below. 5-28 Virtual Programming Slides
The Silicon Valley Modern Quilt Guild has embraced virtual technology not only for meetings, speakers, and workshops, but for sewing days, retreats, show and tell, Block of the Month, and more. They share their ideas here. SVMQG Info On Use of Zoom
Do your bylaws allow you to meet other than in person? A registered Parliamentarian has suggestions for how you might amend your bylaws so you don't run into problems. See our Frequently Asked Questions page for this guidance.
There are some suggestions for conducting meetings via Zoom to keep order and help the meetings stay on track. Considerations for Zoom Meetings (below).
Many of our quilting teachers are developing programs suitable for virtual presentations. Teachers Offering
Virtual Lectures and Workshops is on our Meet the Teachers page for download.
